While Bartram Trail didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 50-35 win over the St. Johns Country Day Spartans on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Bears who have now won three games in a row.

Bartram Trail can attribute much of their success to Bennett Michelsen, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 16 points. David Souza was another key player, going 5 for 11 on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Bartram Trail was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Johns Country Day only racked up six assists.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan Reese, who posted nine points.

Bartram Trail's record now sits at 6-3. As for St. Johns Country Day, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Bartram Trail didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-52 win against Bishop Kenny on the 20th. As for St. Johns Country Day, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Beaches Chapel at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. St. Johns Country Day is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51 points per game this season.
