Football Recap: Heathwood Hall Episcopal Highlanders vs. Northwood Academy Chargers

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Heathwood Hall Episcopal couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They had to suffer through a 61-7 loss at the hands of the Northwood Academy Chargers. The Highlanders haven't had much luck with the Chargers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Patrick Belk threw for 58 yards on six of 12 attempts. Keon McKinnley was his top target, picking up 55 receiving yards.

Northwood Academy's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kevin Johnson, who threw for 350 yards and five TDs while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt. Those 350 passing yards gave Johnson a new career-high. Northwood Academy's leading receiver Aydan Hogan was Johnson's top target yet again, picking up 125 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Heathwood Hall Episcopal's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Northwood Academy, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1.
