Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Liesl Rehder and Nureen Khan Lead Riverside-Durham to Victory + How To Watch

Riverside-Durham waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the St. Mary's Saints by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Pirates, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

The win didn't come easy: St. Mary's scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-19, 14-25, 25-20.

Leading Riverside-Durham to victory were Nureen Khan and Liesl Rehder. Khan had 27 digs and three aces, while Rehder had seven digs and five aces. Khan is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 27 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

They weren't the only good server: Riverside-Durham was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 23 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Riverside-Durham's victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Riverside-Durham will challenge Vance County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Mary's, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Covenant Day at 4:15 p.m. on September 5.
