Soccer Game Preview: Polytech vs. Appoquinimink

The Polytech Panthers will head out to face off against the Appoquinimink Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Polytech comes in on five and Appoquinimink on 16.

Polytech is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Caesar Rodney 4-1. Considering Polytech have won eight contests by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Appoquinimink faced Padua Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Jaguars walked away with a 3-1 win over Padua Academy.

Polytech's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those six matchups. As for Appoquinimink, their victory bumped their record up to 16-0.

Polytech suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Appoquinimink in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
