Fairport had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Penfield on Saturday. The Red Raiders put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 12-5 win. This was a revenge game for the Red Raiders: when they faced off against the Patriots back in April, they had to take a 2-0 loss.

Fairport is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Penfield, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Fairport is set to take on their familiar foe Victor at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Red Raiders 2.8, the Blue Devils 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
