Basketball Recap: Windsor Locks Comes Up Short

Windsor Locks lost against Coventry back in January of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Windsor Locks Raiders took a blow against the Coventry Patriots, falling 49-20. The match marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Navya Singh, who posted eight points.

Coventry was led to victory by Hailey Mayo and Reese Jeamel. Mayo dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards, while Jeamel dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Mayo is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jianna Foran, who had eight points in addition to 11 rebounds and four steals.

Windsor Locks' loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Coventry, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-3.

Windsor Locks wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 39-36 defeat against Rockville on the 10th. As for Coventry, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 79-41 victory against Somers on the 10th.
