Recap: Santa Fe Indians vs. Caney Creek Panthers
The Santa Fe Indians were the 44-33 winner over the Caney Creek Panthers when they last played one another back in December of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. Santa Fe took a 49-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Caney Creek. Santa Fe has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Santa Fe saw an underclassman step up: Ty Tjepkema scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Cooper Baldridge, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Santa Fe has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Caney Creek, their win bumped their record up to 5-12.
Santa Fe and Wharton will face off at 1:30 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Wharton is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. Caney Creek will finish 2023 at home by hosting Dekaney at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Dekaney is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
