Flag Football Game Preview: Burlingame Panthers vs. Menlo-Atherton Bears + How To Watch

The Burlingame Panthers will head out to challenge the Menlo-Atherton Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Burlingame is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Burlingame's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 40-0 victory over Woodside. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Panthers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Wildcats are ranked 590th).

A big part of Burlingame's win came down to the chemistry between Brooke Schuman and her top target Cailyn Lish. Schuman picked up 55 receiving yards and two scores while Lish gained 70 total yards and two touchdowns. Those 55 receiving yards gave Schuman a new career-high.

Burlingame didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Colette Uharriett led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. Mae Paulsen has been hot recently, having posted at least one interception the last three times she's played. Uharriett got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Menlo-Atherton played against Whitney last Saturday and lost via forfeit.

Menlo-Atherton's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-2. As for Burlingame, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Burlingame took their win against Menlo-Atherton when the teams last played back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 34-14 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
