Softball Game Preview: South Park Eagles vs. Charleroi Cougars

South Park has gone a perfect 4-0 against Charleroi recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. South Park will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

South Park's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over McGuffey.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Charleroi, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over Keystone Oaks on Wednesday.

Ariahna Blouse made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Blouse was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Nori Stringa-Smith was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season. Avery Pendo was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

South Park's victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Charleroi, their record is now 5-6.

Everything went South Park's way against Charleroi in their previous matchup back in April of 2018, as South Park made off with a 12-0 victory. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
