Volleyball Recap: Cocoa Tigers vs. Astronaut War Eagles
Cocoa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Astronaut War Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-13, 25-10.
Leading Astronaut to victory were Katie Lindquist and Ava Law. Lindquist had eight digs and three aces, while Law had four digs. The dominant performance gave Lindquist a new career-high in aces.
Cocoa's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Astronaut, the victory snapped their losing streak at 13 games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-12 record.
Cocoa will play host again on Thursday to welcome Florida Prep, where is scheduled at 7:00 p.m. Cocoa is facing Florida Prep at the right time seeing as Florida Prep is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Astronaut, they will have plenty of time to enjoy the win as they don't play again for a while. They'll take on Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy at 6:30 p.m. on October 2nd.
