Softball Game Preview: Abington Heights Comets vs. Springfield Cougars

Adrianna Condrad spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Abington Heights let Riley McColligan and Avary Brister run wild. McColligan went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Brister went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Bustos, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Springfield's hitters rose to the challenge against a Flying Cardinals pitching crew that boasted an average of only 3.58 runs allowed on Thursday. The Cougars blew past Upper Dublin 14-4. Considering the Cougars have won 24 contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Springfield's victory bumped their record up to 31-4. As for Abington Heights, their win bumped their record up to 23-1.
