Basketball Recap: Somerset Academy Losee Extends Winning Streak to Five

Somerset Academy Losee won the last time they faced Amplus Academy, and ZaRyah Snell did her part to make sure it happened again. The Somerset Academy Losee Lions really took it to the Amplus Academy Archers for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-6 win thanks in part to Snell, who went 8 of 10 on her way to 20 points and six steals. Those 20 points gave her a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Lewis, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

The victory (which was Somerset Academy Losee's fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points per game. As for Amplus Academy, their loss was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Somerset Academy Losee will head out to square off against Legacy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Legacy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games. As for Amplus Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Cheyenne at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
