The Patriots fell one run short of winning a Class A state championship last year, falling to Omaha Westside 1-0 in the finals. Millard South looms as the favorite this year, however, thanks to the return of pitcher

The Knights took an early exit from the Class A state playoffs last year, losing two straight to Lincoln Southwest and Millard West. However, Lincoln Southeast could be the top team in Lincoln this year thanks to the return of All-Super State second team members

The Wildcats finished the 2015 season as the fourth-best team in the state, but they return the state's best player in infielder
Cole Stobbe. A first team All-Super State selection, Stobbe batted .426 last year and played in the Perfect Game All-American Classic. He was also a starter for Team USA 18U, which won the gold medal at the World Cup last summer.

The three-time defending state champions will have to replace some top talent from last year's squad, including state MVP Matt Waldron and his all-state brother Mike. However, the Warriors still have some talent returning in second team All-Super State pitcher

The Junior Jays did not advance to the state tournament in 2015, but that should change in 2016. Creighton Prep returns one of the top outfielders in the state in
