Softball Recap: Arroyo Valley Wins Going Away Against Notre Dame

Arroyo Valley won the last time they faced Notre Dame and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Hawks put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 11-2 victory.

Amy Mendoza was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Cianna Atilano, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Arroyo Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Notre Dame only posted an OBP of .174.

Arroyo Valley's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-8-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Notre Dame, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9-1 record this season.

Arroyo Valley has already played their next game, a 10-0 win against Rim of the World on the 25th. As for Notre Dame, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 6-5 victory against Fontana on the 25th.
