Football Recap: Canadian Skates Past Muleshoe with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Canadian). They breezed past the Muleshoe Mules to the tune of 65-28 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wildcats' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 139th, while the Mules are ranked 712th).

When it comes to explaining why Muleshoe lost, don't look at Josue Sigala. Despite the final result, he rushed for 126 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 68 yards and one TD while completing 80% of his passes. Sigala's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 108 rushing yards dating back to last season. Another rusher making a difference was Davian Sital, who rushed for 58 yards and one score.

The win keeps Canadian at an undefeated 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 40.5 points this season. As for Muleshoe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Canadian will be playing in front of their home fans against Sunray at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Bobcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.75 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Muleshoe, they are taking a road trip to challenge Clyde at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
