Volleyball Recap: Ava Parra's Big Game Can't Quite Lead West Mesa over La Cueva

West Mesa lost against La Cueva back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mustangs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-16, 23-25, 25-9.

West Mesa lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ava Parra, who had 21 digs and one assist. Another player making a difference was Kianna Joe, who had eight kills, five digs, and three aces.

West Mesa has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for La Cueva, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

West Mesa didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Cibola on the 18th. As for La Cueva, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Volcano Vista on the 18th.
