Benedictine has gone 7-1 against Collegiate recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Cadets will face off against the Cougars at 3:45 p.m. Benedictine will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Benedictine is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Gonzaga, who was ranked second in their home state at the time (Benedictine was ranked seventh). The Cadets came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 21-14 on Friday. The win almost wasn't to be: the Cadets were down 14-0 in the second quarter.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Collegiate faced off against Paul VI last Friday. The Cougars fell 29-21 to the Panthers. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Benedictine will need to focus on slowing down Sam Settar, one of several Collegiate players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. A healthy portion of Settar's aerial production (87 yards to be exact) went to Zach Jarvis, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Collegiate didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Jarvis picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Collegiate's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Benedictine, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Everything came up roses for Benedictine against Collegiate in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 42-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cadets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
