Recap: El Camino Eagles vs. Rio Americano Raiders

The El Camino Eagles suffered their biggest defeat since November 30, 2023 on Friday. They suffered a tough 67-45 loss at the hands of Rio Americano. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points El Camino has scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why El Camino lost, one person who can't be blamed is Justin Watts. Despite the final result, he scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals. Watts hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Demetrious Perry, who scored 12 points.

El Camino bumped their record down to 6-12 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Rio Americano, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

El Camino will be playing in front of their home fans against Vista del Lago at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Rio Americano won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Laguna Creek at 9:00 a.m. on January 13th. Laguna Creek has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 510 points over their last eight matchups.
