Basketball Recap: Switzerland County Comes Up Short

Switzerland County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-2. They were outmatched by the Lawrenceburg Tigers and fell 77-44. The Pacers lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 60-49 score last time.

Several Pacers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Corbin Craig, who went 7-for-14 en route to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Byrd, who posted nine points.

As for Lawrenceburg, their record now sits at 1-0. They not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since December 7, 2024 (when they won 68-34).

Evan Lewis was a one-man wrecking crew as he shot 5-for-7 from deep and dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten assists. Those ten assists gave him a new career-high. Ollie Safaviyan was another key player, as he made all 5 shots he took to post 12 points and six assists.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Switzerland County will square off against Clarksville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lawrenceburg, they will face off against Franklin County at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. This will be the Tigers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
