Football Game Preview: Radnor Raptors vs. Springfield Cougars

The Radnor Raptors will face off against the Springfield Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Radnor has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with four straight defeats, while Springfield will come in with seven straight victories.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-14, which was the final score in Radnor's tilt against Garnet Valley on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Raptors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the Jaguars are ranked 107th).

Meanwhile, Springfield was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They enjoyed a cozy 35-21 win over Haverford. Springfield's victory was all the more impressive since the Fords were averaging only 14.29 points allowed on the season.

Radnor's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Springfield, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.

Radnor took a serious blow against Springfield in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 41-7. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Raptors were down 41-0.
