Volleyball Recap: Waterford Gets the Win

Waterford's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Frontier Cougars by a score of 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won six in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-11, 23-25, 25-18.

Elsie Malec was nothing short of spectacular: she had 22 digs and five aces. Those five aces gave her a new career-high.

Malec wasn't the only good server: Waterford was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Waterford's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Frontier, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Waterford will face off against Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Frontier, they will challenge St. Marys at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
