Basketball Recap: Keys Gate Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Keys Gate extended their home winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Terrance Shannon Jr. The Keys Gate Knights really took it to the Somerset Academy South Homestead Hurricanes for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-28 victory thanks in part to Shannon Jr, who went 8 for 18 on his way to 21 points and eight steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Brown, who posted 12 points and six steals. He is becoming a predictor of Keys Gate's success: when he posts at least five steals the team is 4-2 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

Keys Gate now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Somerset Academy South Homestead, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Keys Gate didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-30 win against Cushman on the 9th. As for Somerset Academy South Homestead, they will challenge South Miami at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Somerset Academy South Homestead is facing South Miami at the right time seeing as South Miami is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
