Bunn is a perfect 10-0 against Louisburg since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Bunn's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Louisburg's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Bunn is headed into the match having just posted their closest win since May 10, 2024 on Wednesday. They never let Nash Central get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Wildcats have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Meanwhile, Louisburg had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 runs) and they went ahead and made it six last Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Eagles as they made off with a 22-6 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Jake Layton and Carson Champion did most of the damage at the plate: Layton scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Champion scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Layton has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Roberson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

Louisburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .364 or higher in five consecutive games.

Bunn pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Louisburg, their record now sits at 7-4.

Bunn took their victory against Louisburg in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-0 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
