Preview: Chapman Panthers vs. Belton-Honea Path Bears
The Chapman Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Belton-Honea Path Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Chapman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
Chapman unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak. They took a 49-32 bruising from Walhalla. Chapman has not had much luck with Walhalla recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Chapman's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Krislyn Wilder, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds, and Elliot Miller who scored eight points along with five rebounds. The match was Wilder's sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Meanwhile, Belton-Honea Path was just a bucket shy of victory on Sunday and fell 51-50 to Fountain Inn. Belton-Honea Path has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Chapman's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Belton-Honea Path, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Chapman beat Belton-Honea Path 49-38 in their previous meeting back in November. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chapman since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
