Soccer Game Preview: Stilwell vs. Hilldale

Stilwell is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will challenge the Hilldale Hornets at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Stilwell is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Miami get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Hilldale had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 goals) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They came out on top against Varsity Opponent by a score of 3-1. That's two games straight that Hilldale have won by exactly two goals.

Hilldale pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four matches. As for Stilwell, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Stilwell suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Hilldale in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
