The Midway Raiders will challenge the East Carteret Mariners at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Midway is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Midway is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Ayden - Grifton get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Wyatt Herring made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over 6.1 innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run.
Herring wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Harry Johnson, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Johnson has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, East Carteret put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on North Lenoir with a sharp 12-1 victory. Considering the Mariners have won 17 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
East Carteret let Bryan Hadder and Jacob Grimm run wild. Hadder got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Grimm went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Piner, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI.
East Carteret always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Lenoir only posted an OBP of .263.
East Carteret pushed their record up to 26-0 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home. As for Midway, their record is now 20-7.
Midway skirted past East Carteret 4-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
