Baseball Game Preview: South Pontotoc Cougars vs. Evangelical Christian Eagles

The South Pontotoc Cougars will take on the Evangelical Christian Eagles in a tournament on Monday. South Pontotoc is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, South Pontotoc came up short against Houston and fell 7-3.

South Pontotoc saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Harmon, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those stolen bases were Harmon's first of the season. Eli Faulkner was another, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Evangelical Christian was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They came up short against Arlington, falling 7-1. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.

Knox Aaron was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Having lost for the first time this season, Evangelical Christian fell to 2-1. As for South Pontotoc, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
