Baseball Recap: Simon Kenton Takes a Loss

Simon Kenton lost against Covington Catholic last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Pioneers fell just short of the Colonels by a score of 3-2.

Simon Kenton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Ruete, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Simon Kenton has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-8-3 record this season. As for Covington Catholic, they pushed their record up to 18-11 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Simon Kenton will challenge Grant County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Covington Catholic, they will square off against Newport Central Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
