Soccer Game Preview: Great Oak vs. Chaparral

Great Oak and Chaparral are an even 4-4-2 against one another since January of 2020, but likely not for long. The Great Oak Wolfpack will welcome the Chaparral Pumas at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Great Oak is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.9 goals per game this season.

Great Oak is headed into the matchup having not lost since December 13 and will look to keep things rolling. They and Vista Murrieta finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw on Friday.

Asher Manning and Jeremiah Yolemi scored both of Great Oak's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Meanwhile, Chaparral was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Temecula Valley, falling 3-0. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Pumas couldn't quite close it out.

Great Oak's draw gives them a new season record of 7-1-3. As for Chaparral, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4-1.

Everything went Great Oak's way against Chaparral in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Great Oak made off with an 8-0 win. Will Great Oak repeat their success, or does Chaparral have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
