Softball Recap: Churubusco Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Churubusco hadn't done well against Central Noble recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cougars, sneaking past 9-8. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on six straight.

Churubusco's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Marks, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Marks a new career-high.

Churubusco's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Central Noble, the loss snapped their winning streak at ten games and leaves them with a 18-5 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Churubusco will take on South Adams at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Starfires have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Central Noble, they will square off against Eastside at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
