Softball Recap: Lambert's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Lambert entered their tilt with Denmark on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 6-1 win over Denmark. Surprisingly, this marked the Longhorns' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Reagan Young was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Cantarutti, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Payton Yi, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

Lambert kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 8-3 when they post 11 or more hits.

Lambert's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Denmark, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-6.

Lambert will have a chance to go back-to-back against Denmark: the pair will be back at it again later today.
