Basketball Game Preview: Newton Eagles vs. Diboll Lumberjacks

The Newton Eagles will head out to challenge the Diboll Lumberjacks at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Newton will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Last Friday, Newton was beaten by Huntington 62-31.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Diboll, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 48-41 victory over Woodville on Friday.

Newton's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Diboll, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-10.

Newton ended up a good deal behind Diboll when the teams last played back in February of 2024, losing 58-40. Can Newton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
