Volleyball Recap: Iola-Scandinavia Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Iola-Scandinavia challenged Amherst on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds came up short against the Falcons, falling 3-0. The Thunderbirds have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-23, 25-7.

Avah Weinreis paced Iola-Scandinavia's offense, picking up eight kills. Weinreis got some help from Emma Printz and her 17 assists. Maggie Williams controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Iola-Scandinavia's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Amherst, with the victory, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 18-11.

Iola-Scandinavia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Rosholt on the 16th. As for Amherst, after both having extra time off, they and Wittenberg-Birnamwood will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
