Basketball Game Preview: Boyd-Buchanan Buccaneers vs. Silverdale Academy Seahawks

The Boyd-Buchanan Buccaneers will venture away from home to challenge the Silverdale Academy Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Boyd-Buchanan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.

If Boyd-Buchanan beats Silverdale Academy with 80 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Boyd-Buchanan simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Signal Mountain 80-42. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-18.

Meanwhile, Silverdale Academy posted their biggest win since December 10, 2024 on Tuesday. They blew past Heritage 53-33. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Seahawks just coasted through the last quarter.

Boyd-Buchanan better keep an eye on Judah Richardson. He was instrumental in Silverdale Academy's win, putting up 15 points. That's the most points Richardson has posted since back in January of 2024. Briggs Hoewischer was another key player, scoring ten points.

Boyd-Buchanan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.1 points per game. As for Silverdale Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-11.

Things could have been worse for Boyd-Buchanan, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-36 loss to Silverdale Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Boyd-Buchanan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
