Baseball Recap: Venice Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

While Venice put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Fairfax. Venice put the hurt on Fairfax with a sharp 10-0 win. The Gondoliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Noel Moreno looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Venice let Ryan Shepard and Canon King run wild. Shepard scored three runs while going 3-for-5, while King scored a run while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Shepard has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Quiroz, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Venice kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive games.

Venice's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Fairfax, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Venice will have a chance to go back-to-back against Fairfax: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
