Football Game Preview: Kinnelon Colts vs. Butler Bulldogs

The Kinnelon Colts will take on the Butler Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Kinnelon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Kittatinny Regional, posting a 37-7 victory. The win was nothing new for the Colts as they're now sitting on three straight.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Butler). They breezed past New Milford to the tune of 49-13 on Friday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Kinnelon better keep an eye on David Smith. He was instrumental in Butler's win, rushing for 310 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 13.5 yards per carry. Those 310 rushing yards gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Yadi Perez, who rushed for 69 yards and one TD.

Butler was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 455 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 200 rushing yards in seven consecutive contests.

Butler's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Kinnelon, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.

Kinnelon came up short against Butler in their previous matchup back in October of 2015, falling 16-6. Can the Colts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
