Baseball Game Preview: Floresville Tigers/Jaguars vs. Cuero Gobblers

The Floresville Tigers/Jaguars will venture away from home to face off against the Cuero Gobblers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Floresville's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Cuero's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Floresville took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Devine 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers/Jaguars in their matchups with the Warhorses: they've now won seven in a row.

Austin Beyer was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Cuero earned a 7-3 win over Taft on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gobblers.

Cuero pushed their record up to 14-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Floresville, their victory bumped their record up to 18-10.
