Volleyball Recap: Pleasant Grove Takes a Loss

Pleasant Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Skyridge Falcons, falling 3-0. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Skyridge scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-18, 25-17.

Molly Mitchell paced Pleasant Grove's offense, picking up eight kills. Mitchell got some help from Marley McCandless and her 26 assists.

Among those leading the charge was Estelle Slaney, who had six digs and three aces.

Pleasant Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Skyridge, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pleasant Grove will square off against Springville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Vikings' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Skyridge, they will challenge Syracuse at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
