Softball Recap: Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars vs. Forest Hill Falcons
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Somerset Academy - Canyons). They were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over the Forest Hill Falcons on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cougars needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Ryleigh Singer and Riley Rosenberg made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Singer tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Rosenberg struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. At bat, Singer scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-4, while Rosenberg scored a run while going 2-for-3. Singer also brought in two RBI, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Ava Midgett was a standout: she scored three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Brianna Ayala was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Somerset Academy - Canyons always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .757. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Forest Hill only posted an OBP of .250.
