Basketball Game Preview: Lincolnwood Lancers vs. Mulberry Grove Aces

The Lincolnwood Lancers will face off against the Mulberry Grove Aces at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lincolnwood will bounce into Friday's contest after beating North Mac, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Lincolnwood took down North Mac 51-37 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mulberry Grove). They walked away with a 73-63 victory over Lebanon on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Aces as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Lincolnwood better keep an eye on Jackson Icenogle. He was instrumental in Mulberry Grove's win, almost dropping a double-double on 32 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Icenogle a new career-high in points. Landon Sugg was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards.

Mulberry Grove smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Mulberry Grove's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Lincolnwood, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Lincolnwood strolled past Mulberry Grove in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 50-32. Does Lincolnwood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mulberry Grove turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
