Softball Recap: South Beloit Sobos vs. Ashton-Franklin Center Raiders
South Beloit posted their closest victory since April 8, 2024 on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Ashton-Franklin Center Raiders 9-8. The win continues a trend for the Sobos in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won five in a row.
Whitney Schnack was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
