Softball Recap: Spring Creek Takes a Loss

Spring Creek was the 9-6 winner over Elko when they last played one another on Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans fell just short of the Indians by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Ava Cauley put in work no matter where she played. She tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Cauley was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Spring Creek has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Elko, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-10 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Indians beat Spring Creek by a score of 6-5 later that day.
