Volleyball Recap: Tough Loss for Philo

Philo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Tri-Valley Scotties, falling 3-0.

The final set scores came out to 25-16, 25-18, 25-11.

Philo lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ava White, who had six kills, four solo blocks, and three aces. Rayna Rock was another key player, getting eight digs and two solo blocks.

Leading Tri-Valley to victory were Raegan Durfee and Reagan Lamonica. Durfee had 36 assists, 13 digs, and two aces, while Lamonica had 13 kills, 11 digs, and four aces. The team also got some help from Gracie Olinger, who had 14 digs and three assists.

Philo has now lost five of their last six games on the road. That leaves them at a 3-4 record this season. As for Tri-Valley, they have been on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 contests, dating back to last year. That gives them a 5-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Philo is set to take on their familiar foe West Muskingum at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Tri-Valley will challenge their in-conference opponent River View at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
