Baseball Recap: Pueblo Comes Up Short

Pueblo extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-19. They came up short against the Canyon del Oro Dorados, falling 11-1. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 12-0 to the Dorados when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Pueblo saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cruz Leal, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Canyon del Oro, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-4. The result was nothing new for the Dorados, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

On Canyon del Oro's side, Dillon Weidner got the start for Canyon del Oro and what a start it was: he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Weidner has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Evan Alvarez was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was David Adams, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Pueblo has already played their next contest, a 17-5 loss against Flowing Wells on the 14th. As for Canyon del Oro, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 13-1 win against Mountain View on the 14th.
