Herlong can't be to happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Saturday. They received a blow as they fell 44-28 to Loyalton.
Meanwhile, Dunsmuir can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past Happy Camp, posting a 74-32 win at home. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tigers needed considering they were shutout in their previous matchup.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Dunsmuir was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 477 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since was before the start of last season.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Dunsmuir's defensive line and their five sacks. Happy Camp's QB won't forget Xavier Wollner-Lopez anytime soon given he sacked him twice.
Everything came up roses for Herlong against Dunsmuir in their previous matchup back in October of 2023 as the squad secured a 62-12 victory.
