Football Recap: Helix Takes a Loss

Helix started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against San Dieguito Academy. They were just a hair shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 21-20 to the Mustangs. While the Highlanders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mustangs 7-0 in the first quarter.

Lillianna Benabdeljalil threw for 244 yards and a pair of TDs. Kaiya Merlo was her top target, picking up 108 receiving yards.

Helix's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for San Dieguito Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Helix has already played their next matchup, a 19-12 win against Clairemont on the 28th. San Dieguito Academy has also already played their next game (against Mt. Carmel), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
