Softball Recap: Wyoming Valley West Takes a Loss

Wyoming Valley West had lost 11 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 1-14 to make it 12. They lost 12-0 to the Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolfpack this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 two weeks ago.

As for Wilkes-Barre, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-11 record. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Wilkes-Barre's part, Grace Simko was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Hope Burke was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.

Wyoming Valley West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wilkes-Barre, they will venture away from home to square off against Crestwood at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
