Softball Recap: Fairview Victorious

While Fairview's victory against Evergreen wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Apaches skirted past the Vikings 10-8. The Apaches haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Madisen Sharp and Kortney Grinnell did most of the damage at the plate: Sharp scored two runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-4, while Grinnell scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Those four hits gave Sharp a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Liberty Vogelsong, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Fairview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .344 or higher in eight consecutive matches.

The victory got Fairview back to even at 6-6. As for Evergreen, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Fairview beat the Vikings by a score of 11-0 later that day.
