Soccer Recap: Palmer Wins High-Profile Contest Against Homer

Palmer faced Homer in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Moose sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Mariners. For Palmer, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win Homer walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Lila Petitt and Kaylee Gallego scored all three of Palmer's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 28 goals.

Palmer's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those six matches. As for Homer, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8-1 record this season.

Palmer will head out to challenge Kenai Central at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Homer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
