Recap: Mount Tahoma T-Birds vs. Ferndale Golden Eagles
The Mount Tahoma T-Birds had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They enjoyed a cozy 21-7 victory over Ferndale on Friday. Winning may never get old, but Mount Tahoma sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Mount Tahoma can attribute much of their success to Tre' Walker, who rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also threw for 181 yards and a touchdown while completing 73.3% of his passes. Mount Tahoma also got a significant boost from Brison Bailey, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 84 yards.
Mount Tahoma's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.5 points per game. As for Ferndale, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-3.
Coincidentally, Mount Tahoma and Ferndale will both be playing Yelm the next time they take the field. Ferndale will host Yelm at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Mount Tahoma will head out to face them on Saturday.
